PORTLAND’S 14TH ANNUAL NATIVE AMERICAN HOUSING TO HOMEOWNERSHIP FAIR (H2H)
The Native American Youth and Family Center is excited to announce the date of Portland’s 13th Annual Native American Housing to Homeownership Fair (H2H) will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 2020. This is the same H2H Fair NAYA has previously hosted in the fall. The change to spring 2020 better aligns with the typical house buying season and better coincides with the availability of helpful resources.
The H2H Fair offers valuable information, educational workshops, vendor booths, and networking opportunities. Since the first H2H Fair in 2006, NAYA has awarded more than $55,000 in down payment assistance grants used by 30 homebuyers.
NAYA believes that homeownership and housing supports are critical for the economic stability of Portland’s Native American community. NAYA’s Homeownership program provides culturally specific financial wellness education, home buying education, and one-to-one coaching. Last year, the H2H Fair hosted more than 200 families wanting to learn about purchasing a home, maintaining and sustaining home ownership, and understanding critical tenant rights in addition to available community resources.
ALL ARE WELCOME! Future homeowners, renters, current homeowners (and family). Childcare will be provided for those who indicate the need. You do not need to be a homeowner to attend the Housing to Homeownership Fair. There will be valuable information for renters, future homeowners and current homeowners. NAYA’s goal is to provide an educational experience for all of Portland’s Native American community, regardless of their current readiness to purchase a home.
